This oil painting on canvas is derived from an original concept of artwork, which I describe as Lush Landscapes. It depicts lush foliage in vivid colours to emphasise the wide range of textures. The poplar tree stands statuesque in front of bright yellow gorse bushes, within a field of red grasses. A green sky with floating clouds gives the painting a dream like quality. There is texture and movement in the red grass, also a flowing feeling within the tall poplar tree. Two gorse bushes show an abundance of yellow presenting a pleasing effect. Altogether, this presents a startling contrast in abstract form, which gives a spontaneous composition to the image portrayed, in its raw and natural state.
